The Mathematical Statistics and Data Science research group at the University of Trento studies theoretical and applied aspects of Mathematical Statistics and Data Science. The research conducted by the group investigates modern methods of statistical inference for complex and high-dimensional data, taking inspiration by real questions in applied fields.

The group consists of full professors, associate professors, and several PhD students. Ongoing projects involve:

• Network Data Science: Developing models that describe social and dynamic network processes.
• Graphical Models: Developing models that recover complex dependence structures from multivariate high-dimensional data.
• Robust Statistics: Developing methods that are resilient to outliers and model deviations.
• High-dimensional Statistics: Developing computationally efficient inferential procedures for high-dimensional data.
• Biostatistics: Developing statistical methods for high-dimensional medical and omics data.
